
Zhenjiang Software and Information Service Outsourcing Bases
Zhenjiang City, south of Jiangsu province and southern bank of the lower reach of Yangtze River, is the cross of Yangtze River and Beijing-Hangzhou Grant Canal--the so-called cross-shaped gold watercourse. It is neighbored with Nanjing to the west and Shanghai to the east, an important part of the economic circle of Nanjing. Zhenjiang has the dimensional transport advantages with "train, bus, water and air" all together. Nanjing Lukou International Airport and Changzhou Airport are separately 80 km and 50 km away from Zhenjiang. It has also well established education system. There are 6 universities like Jiangsu University, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology etc with full-time students of over 70,000 totally and 5000 IT graduates each year. Over 30 vocational schools provide eligible talents of 27,000 to the society.
The Zhenjiang Software Park is within the Hi-Tech Development Zone of Zhenjiang. The phase I planned area is about 5.33 hectares with the construction area of 22,000 m2. The phase II planned area is 1.58 square kilometer and after construction, 5 functional areas will be in form: outsourcing, R&D, industrial cluster, exhibition and living. Now, there are already 31 self-established enterprises, 21 Hi-Tech enterprises, 29 software enterprises, 22 incubation enterprises. Of them, 2 have been through CMMI3 certification and 3 are software training facilities.
The Park positions itself to undertake Europe-US, Japan-South Korea outsourcing businesses and focuses on expanding software export. It takes great efforts to absorb domestic noted software outsourcing enterprises; endeavors to develop the watercraft design and management software outsourcing, fluid machinery and gas engine design outsourcing, embedded software and integrated circuit chips design outsourcing, service outsourcing in the fields like finance and accounting, medical care, finance back-office, network and digital value-added service, animation and games etc.
