Jiangsu Software Park

Jiangsu Software Park locates in Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu province. It was established in December 2000, approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government. In July 2007, it was nominated as the National Software Industrial Base by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Information Industry. It was recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the National Torch Plan Software Industrial Base in November 2005, and enjoyed the favored national policies for Hi-Tech zones. For many years, Jiangsu Software Park has been greatly supported and directed by the Jiangsu Provincial Government, established three bases including the City Park, the Xuzhuang R&D Base, the Jishan Industrialization and Export Base.

The City Park locates in 168# Longpan Middle Road of Nanjing city. It takes an area of 120,000 m2, of which 61,000 m2 for R&D use. An area of 2,000 m2 garden for leisure is formed there as well. The Xuzhuang R&D Base locates at the Nanjing Xianxi New Urban Area, east to the Purple Golden Mountain, which is scenery and environment-friendly. The base was arranged naturally. It is divided into 3 functional areas: entrepreneurship service, R&D and close-in development areas, which takes an area of about 120,000 m2 in total. The Jiangning Jishan Industrialization and Export Base is positioned to be a software export base and manufacturing base for medium- and large-sized software enterprises, including the "industrialization centre" and "software export base". The industrialization centre locates in the core area of Jiangning Economic and Technical Development Zone, occupying an area of 2 hectares with the construction area of 50,000 m2. The software export base is to occupy 6 square kilometer in the first planning period. The Jiangsu Software Park Export Base is a garden-like creative industrial town with beautiful environment and complete facilities, based on software production services.

As of the end of 2007, the Jiangsu Software Park has absorbed 433 registered software enterprise and over 20,000 workers. The gross sales is approaching 20 billion RMB, of which, software sales is approximately 10 billion RMB. A product cluster comes into shape, involving application software and embedded software related to communications, electric power, finance and security etc. In the City Park, about 160 enterprises set their home. There are 8 universities around like Nanjing University and South East University etc. There are also 10 technical institutes. Two huge groups, Panda and Golden City, also locate there.

Jiangsu Software Park establishes a complete package service system. It provides 7 platforms as industrial policy, professional talent exchange, talent training, software certification, technical support, financial investment and service outsourcing. It also helps more than 30 enterprises like Nanjing Z-Com etc. to grow and thrive and facilitates 4 enterprises like Xinwang Tech Co. Ltd and Sinosoft Technology Co. Ltd to be listed in the overseas market. The integration of industrial resources and expansion of external cooperation lift the brand image of the Software Park.

Nanjing Software Park

Nanjing Software Park was established in February 2000, approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government. In September 2000, it was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the National Torch Plan Software Industrial Base and it was the first national-level software industrial base of Jiangsu province. The Park was honored consecutively as the Demo Park of China Primary Outsourcing Cities, National innovation base of software export and National Animation Industrial Base, becoming an important base and drives for Nanjing-based software and information service outsourcing industry.

Nanjing Software Park locates within the national-level Nanjing Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, neighbored with Laoshan National Forest Park and Pearl Spring. Mountains and streams surrounded lend a feeling of tranquility and leisure. The Park has an overall planned area of 3.58 square kilometer. In the first phase, an area of 250,000 m2 is constructed for software R&D, office and outfit premises; in the second phase, the construction area is about 450,000 m2. The overall investment is about 1.5 billion Yuan. It is planned to build it into an environment-friendly and well functional professional software park.

At present, there are 315 software enterprises and over 20,000 employees in the Nanjing Software Park. 120 enterprises certificated with both the quality of enterprises and their software products. 649 software products have been certified. Within the Park, 4 enterprises are listed into Top 100 National Software Enterprises announced by the Ministry of Information Industry; 5 companies are recognized by China as key placement software enterprises; 6 companies get listed. The Park serves many well-known outsourcing enterprises like R&D Centre of Satyam, Jiangsu Microsoft Technology Centre and the pilot enterprise of China Offshore Software Engineering Project (COSEP), such as Nanjing Nari Group, Nanjing Fujitsu Nanda Software Technology Co. Ltd and Hong Ying Cartoon etc. The Satyam Computer Services Ltd, the fourth largest software enterprise of India will set up a service outsourcing center with 2500 employees within the Park. In 2007, the software enterprises in the Park has gained over 20 billion RMB and the export of software products was 0.158 billion dollars. The overall income of the software industry has an annual growth rate of over 40% for consecutive 6 years.

Nanjing Software Park has a complete service system, which provides incubating services for participating enterprises to develop in terms of policies, funds, technology, markets, talents and information etc. It aims to shape a comprehensive environment suitable for service outsourcing enterprise development through strengthening talent training service, games and animation, IP protection, cooperation with and expansion of international markets etc.

The talent training system is also well established in the Park. Depending on the Park-based Software College of Nanjing University, National Software International Talent Training (Nanjing) Base, Chengxian College of Southeast University, Jinling College of Nanjing University, Jiangsu Microsoft Technology Center and also Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology and Nanjing University of Technology around the Park, talent trainings on software development, games and cartoon and service outsourcing are intensively done with the intention of facilitating the building of the Nanjing Software Talent Training and Exchange Centre.

Focusing on key enterprises available, Nanjing Software Park prioritizes to develop industrial application software like electric power, communications, and information security and BIOS and embedded application software, games and animation industry, service outsourcing industry and talent trainings.

It will further play well its modeling role and brand advantage nationwide and intensify the development through business promotion, accelerate the resource integration, lift up the overall function, speed up the internationalization pace of the software industry, strengthen the talent shaping and set up the enabling political system for the software industrial development so as to make contributions to the Nanjing software industry.
