1.2 Industrial Bases

The Jiangsu software and information service outsourcing industry is mainly distributed in central cities along Yangtze River: Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou and Changzhou etc. It possesses three national-level service outsourcing bases (ranking as No. 1 in China in terms of the quantity): Nanjing city, Suzhou Industrial Park and Wuxi Taihu Protection Zone. It forms an intensive belt of software and information service outsourcing industry among the Yangtze River Delta areas.

There are many advantages that Jiangsu-based software and information service outsourcing industrial parks possessed, such as convenient transportation, excellent geographic location, etc. Most of them have beautiful environments surrounded by mountains and rivers. All these parks occupy the vast lands: Jiangsu Software Park, Nanjing Software Park, Suzhou Software Park, Wuxi Software Park and Changzhou Software park all have construction areas for premises reaching 3 million m2 and areas to be established reaching 4 million m2, providing spacious and nice working and living environments. In 2007, these five parks have gathered over 1800 software enterprises, most of which cater for clients in Japan, South Korea, Europe and US. Most of enterprises, taking the parks as bases, make the industrial alliance to concertedly explore overseas markets and develop into a relatively complete industrial chain.

The public service system of the Jiangsu-based software and information service outsourcing industrial parks is well established. Supported by the Ministry of Information Industry and Jiangsu Information Industry Department, several platforms are formed: technical service, talent training, market expansion and brand promotion public service, IP public service, fund-raising public service etc with the intention of providing package services for the development of participating enterprises in terms of policies, funds, technology, markets, talents and information. The parks also import internationally or nationally influential accounting agencies, audit agencies, laws firms and consultation corporations to provide quality services for these enterprises. The parks are home to residents, domestic and overseas entrepreneurs and gregarious sites for different people. Modern and fashionable entertainment establishments, leisure and gym buildings provide ideal options for both clients and residents. Jiangsu-based industrial parks endeavor to shape a comprehensive and sophisticated environment suitable for the development of software and information service outsourcing enterprises.
